Mid Level React Native Mobile Engineer

Our client in the education technology space is hiring a React Native Mobile Engineer for a full-time, hybrid role in San Francisco, CA (2 days onsite). The engineer will build and enhance a high-traffic consumer mobile application, partnering closely with product and design teams to deliver polished iOS and Android experiences using React Native and TypeScript.

This is an opportunity to take a high level of ownership and impact on an education application with real traction in the App and Play stores. This engineer will help shape the mobile architecture, ship features used daily by hundreds of thousands of users, and raise the bar for performance, reliability, and overall mobile quality. It's a strong fit for someone who enjoys moving quickly, taking responsibility for core systems, and contributing meaningfully to a growing product. Required Skills & Experience

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience (mobile preferred)
• Strong hands-on experience with React Native
• Experience shipping production mobile app(s) on iOS and Android
• Knowledge of React and TypeScript
• Experience collaborating with product managers and designers
• Comfort debugging production issues and supporting live applications

Desired Skills & Experience

• Familiarity with native mobile development (Swift, Kotlin, Objective-C, or Java)
• Experience with consumer-facing applications
• Exposure to backend systems and APIs
• Interest in performance optimization, testing, and CI/CD pipelines
• Background in fast-moving or early-stage product environments

What You Will Be Doing Tech Breakdown

• ~50% React Native mobile development
• ~25% Shared UI and frontend logic using React and TypeScript
• ~25% Collaboration with backend systems and infrastructure

Daily Responsibilities

• Build and own major features across iOS and Android platforms
• Improve app performance, stability, and developer experience
• Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering partners
• Support release workflows for the App Store and Play Store
• Contribute to code reviews and engineering best practices
