Information Security Engineer


Location: Charlotte, NC/Dallas, TX /Phoenix, AZ

Position Summary


We are seeking an experienced Information Security Engineer to join our Cybersecurity Engineering team. This role is responsible for securing enterprise cloud environments across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) by implementing cloud security best practices, monitoring cloud posture, automating security processes, and integrating security technologies across the enterprise.

The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with Cloud Native Application Protection Platforms (CNAPP) such as Wiz, cloud security engineering, automation, security monitoring, and cloud governance. This individual will partner with Infrastructure, DevOps, Security Operations, and Application Development teams to strengthen the organization's cloud security posture while supporting enterprise cloud transformation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities



  • Design, implement, and maintain security controls across Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) environments.
  • Monitor and improve cloud security posture using CNAPP solutions such as Wiz or comparable cloud security platforms.
  • Identify cloud security risks, prioritize remediation efforts, and partner with engineering teams to implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and maintain automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, and Terraform to improve security operations and cloud governance.
  • Integrate cloud security tools with enterprise platforms such as Splunk Cloud, ServiceNow, and other security monitoring solutions.
  • Build dashboards and executive reporting using Power BI, Tableau, or similar visualization platforms.
  • Implement and monitor Identity and Access Management (IAM) controls, privileged access, and information protection policies.
  • Support cloud security monitoring, vulnerability management, and compliance initiatives.
  • Participate in cloud implementation and migration projects to ensure security is integrated throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with Security Operations, Infrastructure, DevOps, Risk, and Compliance teams to investigate security findings and implement preventive controls.
  • Participate in Agile Scrum or Kanban teams, contributing to sprint planning, backlog refinement, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current on emerging cloud security threats, technologies, and industry best practices.

Required Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of Information Security Engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience securing Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform), including:

    • Cloud services
    • Cloud workloads
    • Secure configurations
    • Hardening practices

  • 1+ year of experience using Wiz or a comparable Cloud Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP).
  • Experience with scripting and automation using one or more of the following:

    • Python
    • PowerShell
    • Bash
    • Terraform

  • Experience integrating cloud security tools with enterprise platforms including:

    • Splunk Cloud
    • ServiceNow

  • Experience building reports and dashboards using:

    • Microsoft Power BI
    • Tableau
    • Similar reporting tools

  • Strong understanding of:

    • Identity & Access Management (IAM)
    • Information Protection
    • Cloud security monitoring
    • Security incident response

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to solve complex security challenges.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously.
  • Experience working within Agile Scrum or Kanban environments.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams).
