Global Security Operations Manager Overview

The Global Security Operations Manager leads QBE's global security operations and incident response capability, ensuring a consistent, high quality approach to managing cyber threats across all regions. This role drives operational excellence, resilience and continuous improvement in line with industry best practice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead global security operations and incident response services across a 24/7 environment.
  • Own and drive consistent security operations and incident response processes across all regions.
  • Oversee cyber incident management, including escalation, communication and executive reporting.
  • Drive SOC2 TypeII certification and ensure ongoing compliance with security standards.
  • Develop and deliver clear reporting and metrics for executive leadership and the Board.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives aligned to NIST and industry best practice.
Key Requirements
  • Extensive experience in security operations, incident response or broader cybersecurity functions.
  • Proven leadership experience managing global or distributed teams.
  • Strong technical understanding across security technologies, infrastructure and cloud environments.
  • Experience operating within structured security frameworks (e.g., NIST, SOC2).
  • Excellent communication skills with both technical and non technical stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Strong decision making capability, particularly in high pressure incident response scenarios.
  • Technical competency: working knowledge of SIEM platforms, AI driven threat detection capabilities, network security principles and cloud security across Azure, AWS and SaaS architectures.
  • Understanding of secure software development lifecycle (SDLC) and integration of DevSecOps practices into detection and response.
  • Soft skills: passion for cyber defence operations, stakeholder focus, mentoring ability, emotional intelligence and effective collaboration.
