Job Description
We are seeking a senior-level Cloud Solutions Architect to lead cloud computing initiatives and architectural efforts supporting IT modernization and transformation. The role will focus on Data Center Operations initiatives, cloud infrastructure, application modernization, automation, security, and enterprise technology architecture.
Essential Responsibilities
Lead strategic cloud infrastructure and Data Center Operations initiatives supporting project delivery and steady-state operations.
Develop architectural blueprints, network topologies, technical specifications, and cloud solution designs aligned with business requirements.
Lead cloud engineering initiatives involving migration from on-premises environments to public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms.
Evaluate architectural options and provide recommendations for technology solutions.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), integration pipelines, and automated deployment processes.
Establish and enforce security, identity and access management, data governance, and compliance controls, including HIPAA requirements.
Design, develop, and administer scalable cloud-based systems and integrations.
Support Kubernetes clusters, serverless infrastructure, APIs, microservices, and cloud infrastructure services.
Lead solution implementation, testing, troubleshooting, installation, and deployment activities.
Analyze current-state and desired-state architectures, identify gaps, and develop remediation approaches.
Lead cross-functional initiatives involving multiple IT groups and stakeholders.
Develop technical standards, procedures, best practices, and documentation.
Provide technical guidance and training to technical and program staff.
Work independently with considerable latitude and sound technical judgment while managing multiple concurrent projects.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
7+ years of experience with computer systems, IT infrastructure, hardware, software, operating systems, and applicable programming/scripting languages.
7+ years of experience with major cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Strong understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud delivery models.
7+ years of experience with cloud-based network design principles.
Strong knowledge of cloud security, data governance, compliance, and identity/access management.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and Scrum ceremonies.
7+ years of experience with cloud DevOps principles and CI/CD.
Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containerization, microservices, cluster deployment, scaling, and maintenance.
Experience supporting Kubernetes clusters, serverless infrastructure, and cloud APIs/integrations.
Strong experience with Terraform, Ansible, AWS CloudFormation, and Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates.
Experience with cloud monitoring, logging, auditing, and operations tools such as Sysdig Secure (CNAPP), Dynatrace, AWS CloudWatch, Google Cloud Platform Cloud Operations, Azure Monitor, and OCI Monitoring.
Strong scripting/automation skills using Bash, KornShell, PowerShell, Cloud CLI, Kubernetes Helm, and related tools.
Experience with YAML, JSON, Ruby, HCL, and other declarative/imperative languages.
Strong Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience using tools such as Ansible, Docker, and Terraform.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, problem-solving, technical writing, and diagramming skills.
Experience with Microsoft Visio, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project.
Ability to manage multiple overlapping projects, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and establish best practices and procedures.
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in cloud technologies, cloud architecture, and enterprise IT solutions.
8+ years of experience architecting, engineering, or developing enterprise IT solutions in cloud and hybrid-cloud environments.
Experience with cloud database services, including SQL/Oracle and NoSQL databases.
Knowledge of data lakes and cloud ETL/ELT best practices.
Experience with data pipelines, ETL processes, and big data frameworks.
Knowledge of AI services and configuration available from major cloud providers.
Experience supporting enterprise-scale technology modernization and transformation initiatives.
Additional Requirements :
Must be local to the Austin, TX area within a 50-mile radius.
Must be available to work onsite Thursday and Friday in Austin, TX.
Position requires strong collaboration with technical, business, and cross-agency stakeholders.
Successful candidate will be subject to applicable background and employment verification requirements.
