AWS Software Architect

Introduction: We are seeking an AWS Solutions Architect for a contract-to-hire opportunity. This hybrid role is ideal for an experienced architect with strong AWS serverless expertise, broad technical depth across applications and infrastructure, and the ability to design scalable, high-performing solutions across complex environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design and architect full-stack solutions built on the AWS technology stack
• Develop serverless and microservices-based architectures using technologies such as Lambda, Node.js, TypeScript, React, and related AWS services
• Evaluate technology platforms and recommend scalable architectural approaches
• Design solutions across SQL and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL and related database technologies
• Architect applications that support large-scale media delivery, messaging, and streaming use cases
• Consider networking, bandwidth, routing, compute, storage, caching, and application performance in solution designs
• Partner with engineering and architecture teams to improve reliability, scalability, and performance

Required Skills:

• 12+ years of overall technology experience, including Solutions Architecture experience
• Strong AWS experience with hands-on serverless architecture knowledge
• Experience designing scalable, distributed systems using microservices
• Proficiency with JavaScript, Node.js, TypeScript, and/or React
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL database environments
• Understanding of networking concepts, bandwidth, compute, storage, and application performance optimization
• Ability to evaluate architecture tradeoffs across security, data, network, and infrastructure considerations

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, SQS, or similar messaging and streaming tools
• AWS certifications
• Knowledge of VPNs, routing, network protocols, and application security
• Experience with Android-connected applications or device-based platforms
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
