Job Description
We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer to own our data backbone, shaping architecture, building scalable frameworks, and delivering robust pipelines that power smarter decisions across Coates Group. You'll lead end to end data engineering initiatives, partnering with cross functional teams to design, build and optimise solutions that turn complex data into trusted, business ready assets.
Key responsibilities for this role- Take ownership of data engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring the successful delivery of high quality data solutions that meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams: work closely with data owners, analytics engineers, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into efficient and scalable data pipelines.
- Design and build data pipelines: utilize your technical proficiency to design and construct data pipelines that enable seamless data integration from multiple sources into our data warehouse.
- Maintain data infrastructure: continuously optimise and enhance the data infrastructure to ensure data quality, reliability, and performance, while adhering to best practices.
- Foster a data driven culture: promote the use of data driven decision making by empowering teams with access to accurate and timely data through well structured pipelines.
- Stay current with data engineering trends: keep abreast of the latest advancements in data engineering technologies and methodologies, incorporating them into our data engineering practices.
- Demonstrated experience in data engineering with a track record of delivering successful data solutions.
- Expertise in data storage, processing, and transformation of data with tools such as Snowflake, Airflow, Airbyte, Athena, Glue, DBT, S3 and Azure Blob on cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure (GCP would be a bonus but not mandatory).
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python for data manipulation and ETL.
- Solid knowledge of database technologies, data modelling and data warehouse methodologies and high proficiency in both T SQL and Snowflake native SQL.
