Responsibilities:

  • Rework and Repair: Assess returned prototype units, confirm failure modes, and perform failure analysis to determine root cause.

  • Disassemble units per SOPs to inspect systems related to failure symptoms and perform component or module exchanges to isolate faults.

  • Prototype Assembly: Support scaled prototype assembly and disassembly, including small pre-production units.

  • Develop and refine SOPs, assembly and operating instructions, and provide solution proposals and repairs.

  • Partner with engineering teams through clear written documentation and live discussions to resolve issues.

  • Provide troubleshooting and repair support across electrical, mechanical, and software domains.

  • Prototype QA: Flash, program, and calibrate prototypes or test equipment following SOPs.

  • Run software scripts and basic commands via Linux, macOS, and Windows command line interfaces.

  • Electrical Technician: Use electronic analysis tools for QC of electronic assemblies and perform light soldering repairs.

  • Maintain thorough, consistent documentation of work performed on each unit.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Ability to adapt to changing daily statements of work and prioritize multiple tasks.

  • Experience collaborating with design engineers for troubleshooting, clarification, and feedback.

  • Willingness to propose and implement process improvements, including SOP development.

  • Proficiency using text, photos, and videos to convey assembly processes.

  • Commitment to seeking feedback for continuous improvement.

Preferred Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail with electronic or consumer-electronic repair and debugging experience.

  • Computer programming experience and electrical troubleshooting skills.

  • Past prototype or assembly line experience in small electronics or devices.

  • Familiarity with OrCAD/Allegro and other EE hardware design tools.
