Fire Sprinkler Fitter/ Foreman

Location: Jacksonville, Florida (Onsite)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Fire Sprinkler Fitter or Foreman to provide installation services for various fire sprinkler systems and components. This position involves project-based work focused on new commercial construction, such as large hospitals and banks. The role requires attention to detail, the ability to work independently or lead a job, and effective communication with project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret blueprints to install prefabricated fire sprinkler piping.
  • Lead or perform the installation of new systems, retrofits, and tenant improvement projects.
  • Cut, thread, and groove pipe to specifications using tools such as saws and pipe threaders.
  • Work and coordinate with various onsite contractors and trades to resolve coordination conflicts.
  • Manage or assist with job scheduling and progress to ensure efficiency and quality.
  • Provide support, guidance, and expertise to other field installers and helpers.
  • Conduct inspections and interact with the Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) for testing.
  • Comply with all industry-standard procedures and safety programs.
Required Qualifications

Experience:
  • Foreman: 8-10 years of fire sprinkler experience.
  • Fitter: 2-5 years of fire sprinkler experience.


Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency with trade-appropriate tools, including band saws for cutting thread rod.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints for installation.
  • Strong working knowledge of wet, dry, and pre-action systems, as well as backflows and fire pumps.
  • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards.


Education & Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications
  • NICET certifications.
  • Experience with the installation of underground piping.
  • Certification in backflow inspection and repair.
  • Completion of a Sprinkler Apprenticeship program.
