SAP MDG Supplier Master Functional Lead

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP MDG Supplier Master Functional Lead to lead Supplier Master Data Governance initiatives across enterprise SAP landscapes.

The ideal candidate will have strong functional expertise in SAP MDG-S (Supplier Master), Supplier Lifecycle Management, SAP S/4HANA Business Partner, SAP MM Procurement, Supplier Onboarding, Data Governance, and SAP Ariba integration.

The consultant will lead functional activities across the complete implementation lifecycle, including requirements gathering, workshops, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, production support, and hypercare.

This role requires close collaboration with Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Accounts Payable, Compliance, Data Migration, and IT teams.

Key Responsibilities

1. Functional Leadership

• Lead SAP MDG Supplier Master functional design and implementation activities.
• Serve as the primary functional lead for Supplier Master Data Governance initiatives.
• Conduct business workshops and requirements-gathering sessions.
• Analyze current-state supplier processes and define future-state solutions.
• Define supplier governance processes, approval workflows, and business rules.
• Provide functional leadership across:
• Design

• Provide guidance to business and IT leadership.

2. SAP MDG-S Configuration

• Configure SAP MDG Supplier Data Model and governance processes.
• Configure and maintain:
• Change Request Types
• Workflows
• Business Rules
• BRF+ validations
• Derivations
• Duplicate checks
• Support Fiori-based Supplier Master governance processes.
• Define appropriate approval and validation mechanisms.
• Collaborate with technical teams on enhancements and custom developments.
• Ensure configurations align with business and governance requirements.

3. Supplier Data Governance

• Define and enforce Supplier Master data standards.
• Establish supplier governance policies and procedures.
• Design supplier onboarding and maintenance processes.
• Support supplier lifecycle management.
• Drive supplier data-quality initiatives.

• Ensure supplier data complies with enterprise, procurement, and regulatory requirements.

4. SAP S/4HANA & Business Partner

• Apply strong understanding of SAP S/4HANA Business Partner architecture.
• Support supplier/vendor transformation initiatives.
• Understand the relationship between:
• Business Partner
• Supplier / Vendor
• Procurement processes
• Support SAP S/4HANA transformation programs involving Supplier Master governance.
• Ensure Supplier Master processes are aligned with SAP Business Partner standards.

5. SAP MM & Procurement Processes

• Demonstrate strong understanding of SAP MM Procurement processes.
• Understand end-to-end supplier lifecycle processes.
• Support integration of Supplier Master governance with procurement operations.
• Collaborate with Procurement and Supply Chain teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve supplier onboarding and maintenance processes.

6. Integration & Replication

• Support integration between SAP MDG and:
• SAP S/4HANA
• SAP ECC
• SAP Ariba
• Third-party applications
• Work with technical teams on integration requirements.
• Support Data Replication Framework (DRF) processes.
• Validate supplier master replication across connected systems.
• Troubleshoot data synchronization and integration issues.
• Support supplier data migration and conversion activities.

7. SAP Ariba Integration

• Support Supplier Master integration with SAP Ariba.
• Understand supplier onboarding and synchronization between MDG and Ariba.
• Work with Procurement and technical teams to resolve integration issues.
• Validate supplier data flow across SAP MDG, S/4HANA, and Ariba.

8. Testing & Deployment

• Coordinate and support:
• SIT
• UAT
• Regression Testing
• Production Validation
• Develop functional test scenarios and test cases.
• Validate Supplier Master governance processes.
• Support defect identification and resolution.
• Participate in deployment and cutover activities.
• Support go-live and post-production hypercare.

9. Data Migration & Transformation

• Collaborate with Data Migration teams during supplier conversion projects.
• Support supplier data extraction, cleansing, transformation, and validation.
• Define functional requirements for supplier data migration.
• Validate migrated supplier data.
• Support SAP S/4HANA transformation and master-data conversion initiatives.

10. Stakeholder Management & Documentation

• Serve as the primary functional point of contact for Supplier Master Data initiatives.

• Review deliverables and ensure adherence to SAP MDG best practices.
• Support offshore teams with requirements clarification and solution decisions.
