Job Description

A growing real estate lending platform is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the evolution of its technology organization. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering leader who has successfully driven business transformation initiatives within mortgage, lending, or regulated financial services environments.

This position combines engineering leadership, business partnership, technology strategy, and team development. You will play a key role in modernizing technology platforms, improving engineering execution, and helping shape the future direction of the organization.

What You'll Do

  • Lead business-critical technology transformation initiatives across lending and enterprise platforms.
  • Partner closely with executive leadership and business stakeholders to define technology strategy and roadmap priorities.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, contractors, and offshore resources.
  • Establish and improve engineering processes, delivery standards, and development best practices.
  • Drive adoption of modern software development and AI-enabled engineering workflows.
  • Influence architecture, platform modernization, and long-term technology decisions.
  • Balance strategic planning with day-to-day execution and delivery.


What We're Looking For



Required

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience leading engineering teams through significant business and technology transformation efforts.
  • Strong track record managing software delivery, engineering organizations, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Deep mortgage, lending, or real estate finance industry experience, including familiarity with regulatory and operational processes.
  • Ability to translate business priorities into technical roadmaps and engineering execution plans.
  • Strong communication skills and executive presence.


Preferred

  • Experience leading Salesforce implementation, modernization, or transformation initiatives.
  • Salesforce Financial Services Cloud experience.
  • Experience working within highly regulated environments.
  • Background managing distributed teams, contractors, and offshore resources.
  • Experience using AI to improve software delivery, engineering productivity, or development workflows.

Location: Irvine, CA (Hybrid), San Francisco, CA (Hybrid)
Compensation: 170,000 - 200,000 + Bonus + Equity
