The Opportunity:

A great opportunity for a Power Supply Assembly Technician to join our client on a 6-month term, with a high potential to have this contract extended. This role will work with our Federal Government client, that supports Australian weather, climate, water, oceans and space through various products and services. This is a great opportunity to support a department that is essential to all Australians.

The successful candidate will be offered full-time hours, on a casual rate that is aligned with an APS3 equivalent. Located in Broadmeadows with an expected commencement date of September 1st. Applicants must be an Australian Citizen to be considered for this role, and can pass a clear Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check.

Key responsibilities:
  • Interpret and follow assembly instructions.
  • Assemble extra low voltage electrical circuits and components using basic hand tools.
  • Control stock in an assembly environment.
  • Follow and improve upon documented processes as needed.
  • Breakdown deadlines and outcomes, identifying issues and uncertainties and incorporate these into planning, decision making and implementation.
  • Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.
  • Comply with work, health and safety policies and procedures, and take reasonable care for your own health and safety and that of employees, contractors and visitors who may be affected by your conduct.
Selection Criteria:
  • Completion or progress towards, a relevant VET, trade, technical, or tertiary qualification in electrical, electronics, communications, instrumentation, engineering, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in extra low voltage (ELV) or other technical systems through study, apprenticeships, work experience, or personal projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • An ability to handle multiple tasks and adhere to timeframes or deadlines.
