ROLE SUMMARY
Senior client-facing growth role responsible for driving revenue across BA/BE and early clinical services. Leverages the organisation's 120-bed BE facility, 16-bed inpatient Phase I unit, and patient-based PD/PK capabilities to win and expand complex generic and branded generic pharmaceutical mandates. Owns the full commercial cycle - from client portfolio development and proposal leadership to contract closure and account retention.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Growth & Strategy
- Drive 3-5 year growth strategy for BA/BE vertical with emphasis on complex and branded generics
- Identify and prioritise new geographies, therapeutic areas, and client segments
- Package facility capabilities into differentiated service offerings
Client Portfolio & Acquisition
- Build and manage a strong client portfolio across generic, branded generic, and innovator pharma
- Hunt new logos; farm existing accounts to deepen wallet share
- Engage C-suite and R&D/RA/CMC decision-makers at domestic and international clients
- Lead capability presentations, client workshops, and strategic negotiations
Facility Commercialisation
- Position 120-bed BE and 16-bed inpatient unit as key differentiators
- Commercialise patient-based PD/PK services for complex generics and NDA clients
- Develop integrated BE + early clinical service bundles
Proposals, CRM & Reporting
- Own proposal preparation: quotations, capability decks, service agreements
- Maintain pipeline discipline via CRM (Salesforce / HubSpot); accurate stage tracking
- Deliver weekly/monthly/quarterly BD reports to senior management
- Monitor competitor activity, regulatory trends, and ANDA/NDA filing pipelines
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
Required Experience
- 10-15 years in CRO/Pharma BD - BA/BE, complex generics, or early clinical
- Proven record signing large BA/BE contracts with domestic and international clients
- Experience with complex generic study types: NTI drugs, MR formulations, complex inhalation, topicals
- Familiarity with inpatient PK/PD study operations (advantage)
Commercial Skills
- Client engagement, executive-level presentations, and negotiation
- Pricing strategy, margin management, and deal structuring
- CRM proficiency - pipeline management, forecasting, activity tracking
- Ability to translate technical BE/PK specs into commercial language
Preferred
- International BD exposure: US, EU, APAC, MENA, Latin America
- Knowledge of USFDA, EMA, CDSCO BE regulatory expectations
- Willingness to travel for client visits and industry conferences
Education
- M.Pharm / M.Sc Life Sciences / Biotechnology (required)
- MBA in Marketing or International Business (preferred)
