The Role • Operate heavy machinery, including hostlers, cranes, top loaders, and side loaders, to move shipping containers within an intermodal yard. • Load and unload containers from railcars and trucks, ensuring timely and accurate handling. • Position containers and chassis using hostlers to maintain efficient yard operations. • Conduct pre- and post-operation equipment inspections to ensure safety and functionality. • Coordinate with yard personnel and supervisors to manage tasks and site logistics. • Adhere to safety protocols and procedures to maintain a secure working environment. What You'll Need • A valid driver’s license is mandatory for this position. • Prior experience operating heavy equipment in a logistics or industrial setting is preferred. • A strong commitment to safety, with excellent attention to detail. • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50lbs and climbing. • Willingness to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, based on union seniority. • Basic communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
