Systems Administrator 8 week contract - Immediate Start

My client is seeking an experienced Systems Administrator to support a critical infrastructure patching initiative. This is an initial 8 week contract with the potential to extend, offering the opportunity to work across a complex enterprise environment while coordinating security patching activities with multiple technical teams. This role will suit a strong infrastructure contractor who combines hands on systems administration experience with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

You will be responsible for coordinating the end to end patching lifecycle, ensuring deployments are planned, tested, and implemented with minimal disruption.

Key Skills & Experience

• Demonstrated experience as a Systems Administrator supporting Windows Server, Linux, and VMware environments
• Experience coordinating enterprise security patching activities across large server estates
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration, including patch deployment and maintenance
• Experience with VMware infrastructure administration
• Exposure to RedHat Satellite for Linux patch management is highly regarded, but not essential
• Proven ability to coordinate with application teams to schedule patching, manage testing activities, and ensure successful production deployments
• Experience working within change management processes, including CAB approvals where required
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to manage multiple teams and competing priorities
• Strong organisational skills with a methodical approach to planning, scheduling, and delivering infrastructure changes

Location: Sydney (Hybrid - 2 to 3 days in the office)
