Assistant Project Manager

Location: London (Hybrid)

Rate: £350 per day (Umbrella)

Contract: 12 Months


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Project Manager to join a leading infrastructure programme, supporting the successful delivery of major capital projects. Working alongside experienced Project Managers, you'll help coordinate project activities, manage assigned work packages and ensure projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget.

This role is ideal for someone with experience supporting engineering, construction or infrastructure projects who is looking to develop their career within a complex project environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of projects and programmes from planning through to completion.
  • Manage assigned work packages and monitor progress against project plans.
  • Assist with project reporting, governance, scheduling, budgeting and document control.
  • Identify and escalate project risks, issues and opportunities, providing recommendations where appropriate.
  • Support the management of project budgets and delivery against agreed timescales.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams, contractors and external stakeholders.
  • Promote continuous improvement by sharing best practice and lessons learned.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Deputise for the Project Manager when required.


About You

  • Degree qualified or equivalent experience.
  • Experience supporting infrastructure, engineering or construction projects.
  • Understanding of project management methodologies and project controls.
  • Knowledge of planning, risk, reporting and budget management.
  • APM, PRINCE2 or similar project management qualification is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Proactive, adaptable and committed to delivering successful project outcomes.
