Lead Program Manager – IT

Job Summary
The Lead Program Manager – IT is responsible for planning, managing, and delivering multiple strategic IT projects and programs. The role provides overall program leadership, coordinates cross-functional teams, manages budgets and risks, and ensures successful delivery aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage complex, cross-functional IT programs from initiation through completion.
  • Develop program plans, timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource requirements.
  • Coordinate multiple projects and project managers within the overall program.
  • Ensure programs are delivered on time, within budget, and according to agreed scope and quality standards.
  • Work closely with business stakeholders, IT leadership, vendors, and technology teams.
  • Establish program governance, reporting, processes, and performance metrics.
  • Identify, assess, and manage program risks, issues, dependencies, and changes.
  • Monitor program progress and provide regular status reports to senior management.
  • Manage budgets, resources, contracts, and vendor relationships where applicable.
  • Facilitate steering committee meetings and executive-level program reviews.
  • Ensure effective communication and alignment across all program stakeholders.
  • Drive issue resolution and escalate critical matters when required.
  • Ensure compliance with IT policies, security requirements, and organizational standards.
  • Support change management, business adoption, and organizational readiness.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and program delivery optimization.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to project managers and program team members.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of project and program management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, or hybrid models.
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects, teams, budgets, and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure, applications, systems, or digital transformation projects.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
  • Strong risk, issue, dependency, and change-management capabilities.
  • Experience with project/program management tools and reporting.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum Master, or similar certification is an advantage.
