Accounting Clerk

Our client, a manufacturing industry leader, is seeking an Accounting Clerk to join their team. As an Accounting Clerk, you will be part of the finance department supporting daily accounting operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Accounting Clerk

Location: LYNCHBURG, VA

Pay Range: $28.00 to $29.00 an hour 

Shift: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday (1 hour for lunch)

What's the Job?

• Assist with monthly income tax calculations and property tax return filings
• Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate financial records
• Reconcile accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy
• Support fixed asset accounting processes
• Maintain compliance with GAAP accounting principles and company policies

What's Needed?

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles
• Competent in Excel, including formulas like VLOOKUP and SUMIF
• Experience with fixed asset accounting and monthly income tax calculations is a plus
• Ability to start promptly and work effectively in a team environment
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
