Data Scientist MLOps

The opportunity

As a Manager within our AI & Data service line, you will lead the design, delivery and operationalisation of modern data and machine learning platforms that enable scalable, secure and production grade analytics capabilities. You will take ownership of client engagements, guiding teams to establish robust DataOps and MLOps frameworks, while shaping solution architecture and driving delivery outcomes. This role sits at the intersection of data engineering, platform operations and ML enablement, with a strong focus on reliability, automation and business impact. Location: Boorloo - Perth, Australia office. Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours - please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

• Lead end to end delivery of DataOps and MLOps solutions across complex client environments.
• Own client relationships and translate business requirements into scalable, outcome driven solutions.
• Design and govern data and ML platform architectures, including ingestion, orchestration and optimisation.
• Drive platform operationalisation across CI/CD, automation, environment management and release processes.
• Oversee ML lifecycle management, including deployment, monitoring, retraining and governance.
• Establish data quality, lineage and observability frameworks to ensure platform trust and reliability.
• Lead, mentor and quality assure delivery teams while contributing to business development and internal capability.

Skills and attributes for success

We are looking for candidates with a strong background in data platform engineering, DataOps or MLOps, with experience delivering production grade data and ML capabilities in a cloud or consulting environment. Ideally, you'll also have the skills and attributes below, but don't worry if you don't tick all the boxes - we're interested in your aptitude, attitude and willingness to learn.

• Strong experience delivering DataOps, MLOps or data platform solutions in consulting or enterprise environments.
• Proven ability to lead teams and manage delivery outcomes across complex data or AI programmes.
• Deep understanding of data platform architecture, pipeline automation, testing and monitoring practices.
• Hands on experience with SQL, Python and modern data transformation tooling.
• Experience building and operating cloud native solutions on AWS, with familiarity across key services such as compute, storage, networking and serverless architectures.
• Exposure to ML lifecycle tooling, deployment patterns and operational considerations.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence senior business and technical audiences.
• Experience contributing to solution design, proposals or pre sales activities.
