Position Overview
- Provide strategic and hands-on leadership for all Human Resources functions.
- Partner with the General Manager and leadership team to build a high-performing, service-driven culture.
- Ensure HR practices support exceptional member service, employee engagement, retention, and operational excellence.
- Maintain compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws.
Director of Human Resources Key Responsibilities
- Lead recruitment, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and employee orientation.
- Develop and maintain HR policies, procedures, employee handbook, and HR systems.
- Partner with department leaders on staffing, workforce planning, performance management, and employee development.
- Manage employee relations, investigations, disciplinary matters, conflict resolution, and workplace concerns.
- Oversee payroll, benefits, workers’ compensation, unemployment claims, and HR administration.
- Develop and implement employee engagement, retention, training, and professional development initiatives.
- Provide coaching and guidance to managers on effective leadership and people-management practices.
- Monitor compensation, turnover, staffing levels, and other HR metrics.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records.
- Promote a culture of professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and exceptional hospitality.
Director of Human Resources Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, preferably in luxury member-owned private country clubs.
- Strong knowledge of employment law, employee relations, recruiting, benefits, and performance management.
- Proven ability to recruit, develop, and retain high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication, coaching, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong HRIS and technology experience.
- SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred.
