Rare opportunity for an experienced Building Certifier to join a highly respected consultancy with a long-standing reputation for technical excellence and staff retention.
Due to continued growth, an opportunity has become available for a senior Building Certifier to join an established Adelaide-based team. Positions at this level are uncommon, making this an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking for a stable, collaborative environment where their expertise will be highly valued.
Working across a diverse portfolio of residential, commercial and mixed-use developments, you will play a key role in guiding projects through the building approval and compliance process, providing practical advice to clients and supporting construction teams from design through to completion.
The RoleThis is a varied and hands-on position combining both office-based technical assessments and on-site inspections. You will be responsible for managing a broad range of certification activities, working closely with builders, architects, developers and consultants to ensure projects achieve compliance with relevant building standards and legislation.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct mandatory and critical stage construction inspections across residential and commercial projects
- Assess building plans, drawings and supporting documentation for compliance
- Prepare detailed compliance assessments and approval recommendations
- Provide expert guidance on building regulations, legislation and National Construction Code (NCC) requirements
- Work closely with builders and project stakeholders to resolve compliance matters
- Prepare inspection reports and compliance documentation
- Assist with occupancy approval processes and final inspections
- Provide technical input on complex certification and regulatory matters
- Support clients through all stages of the building approval process
- Previous experience as a Building Certifier or Building Surveyor
- Strong experience across residential and commercial developments
- Sound knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant building legislation
- Relevant qualifications in Building Surveying or a related discipline
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to provide practical, commercially minded compliance solutions
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability
- Current driver's licence
