Shared Services Manager

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced transactional finance leader ready to take the next step in their career. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, you'll lead a high-performing Shared Services function, overseeing Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable across a large and growing organisation. While this is a broad operational leadership role, payroll is a critical component of the position, making it ideal for someone with a strong payroll background who is looking to expand their leadership capability across the wider finance function. Key Responsibilities

As Shared Services Manager, you will be responsible for the leadership, performance and continuous improvement of the transactional finance function. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and developing the Payroll, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams to deliver exceptional service across the organisation.
• Overseeing end-to-end shared services operations, ensuring efficient processing, strong governance and a customer-focused approach.
• Ensuring payroll operations are delivered accurately, compliantly and on time, while driving best practice across payroll processes and controls.
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders across the business and acting as the senior escalation point for complex payroll, supplier and customer matters.
• Driving operational improvements, streamlining processes and identifying opportunities to leverage technology.
• Supporting finance transformation initiatives and system enhancements to improve scalability and efficiency.
• Creating a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

This role is suited to an experienced Payroll Manager or Shared Services leader who is passionate about people leadership and operational excellence. You'll bring:

• Significant experience leading complex payroll functions, with a strong understanding of payroll legislation, governance and compliance.
• Previous leadership experience managing Payroll teams, with exposure to Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable highly regarded (not essential).
• A genuine passion for developing people, coaching teams and building a positive, high-performing culture.
• Strong process improvement experience, with the ability to identify efficiencies and implement sustainable change.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to partner with leaders across the business.
• Experience leading teams through business growth, systems implementation or organisational change will be highly regarded.
