Job Description
Job Title: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: San Jose CA
Duration- Long Term
Key Responsibilities:
● Design and deliver next-generation chassis and cards aligned with system product
requirements
● Conduct detailed 2D tolerance analysis for complex electro-mechanical assemblies
using spreadsheets and/or 3D tolerance analysis tools such as CETol
● Develop innovative mechanical solutions using sheet metal, plastic, and die-cast
materials that comply with EMI, safety, and regulatory standards
● Create 3D CAD models using Creo or NX
● Produce detailed drawings applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
principles
● Lead issue resolution by collaborating closely with manufacturing teams and suppliers,
developing mitigation plans, and keeping management informed
● Work cross-functionally with hardware, signal integrity, CAD, thermal, and
manufacturing teams to negotiate requirements and assess technical risks and
tradeoffs
● Collaborate with thermal engineers to design and implement effective cooling
solutions
● Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
Minimum Qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
● At least 5 years relevant to compute/network products
● Proficiency in 3D MCAD tools such as Creo or NX
● Experience with static and dynamic analysis tools like Creo Simulate or ANSYS
● Expertise in tolerance analysis, GD&T, and statistical analysis
● Proven experience designing sheet metal for high-volume production
● Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills
● Excellent team player with strong collaboration abilities
