Job Description

Job/Position Summary

Responsibilities:

  • Performing e-Powertrain function analysis and function decomposition for energy storage system
  • Requirement elicitation activities to gather Regulatory requirements, environmental and electrical parameters & associated corporate specifications etc.
  • Propulsion system high level functional requirement artifact creation in IBM DOORS Next Gen (DNG) including attribute classifications.
  • Propulsion system Operating Modes Identification, Analysis and Documentation in DNG
  • Powertrain Thermal System analysis to identify visually the normal, de-rated and non-functional performance for each component and determine possible Propulsion System functions for a given temperature range
  • Participate in the Agile Methodology for defining RASI, deliverable, timing and to identify potential risks.
  • Diagnostics requirements understanding and development of End Of line, In-pant requirements for different energy storage subsystems.

Requirements:

  • Good understanding about basic automotive systems such as Engine, Transmission (Manual & Automatic), 4WD systems, Fuel systems, exhaust systems, Electrified power train etc.
  • Good understanding about Hybrid vehicle, Battery Electric vehicles Architecture and components involved like inverters, DC-DC converter, Onboard Charging System, motor controls, etc.
  • Detailed understanding of AC Charging (Architecture , types , energy flow, conversion) in ePT .
  • Detailed understanding of DC Charging (Architecture , types , energy flow, conversion) for different regions and based on different protocols for PHEV and BEV .
  • Good understanding about V2X features (V2L,V2H, V2G, V2V etc.) functionalities, working principle , applicability to standards.
  • Good understanding of Battery management system (Architecture, functionalities, Estimations etc.)
  • Good understanding about Charging and discharging standards (ISO , DIN , SAE etc.).
  • Familiar with advance automotive technologies or functionalities such as Cruise control, ACC, ADAS, Stop & Start, ABS/ESP, Drive Modes, Thermal Management etc.
  • Understanding of the HMI flows to achieve functionalities and interaction with User.
  • Understanding of the Plug and charge feature (User interaction, certificate management, types of certificates and procedure)
  • Good understanding of automotive electronics (Controllers, Sensors, actuators, Communication protocols like CAN, LIN, Flex ray etc.).
  • Understanding basic sensor and actuator diagnostics.
  • Understanding of the Vehicle schematic diagram and harness development process.
  • Knowledge of Vehicle development Lifecycle, Change Management system, End of Line, Delivery plans.
  • Familiar with Powertrain control software development/validation/ calibration.
  • Knowledge of Requirement Development process
  • Familiarity with Failure analysis techniques, FTA, HARA, DFMEA.
  • Familiarity of functional safety concepts and ISO 26262.
