Workshop Engineer

Full-Time | Permanent | Competitive Salary + Bonus

A leading UK supplier of commercial catering equipment is looking to recruit a skilled Workshop Engineer to join its growing engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on engineer with experience working on commercial kitchen equipment who enjoys fault-finding, refurbishment, and delivering high-quality workmanship within a busy workshop environment.

The Role

As a Workshop Engineer, you will be responsible for the inspection, servicing, repair, and refurbishment of commercial combi ovens and catering equipment. Working alongside a knowledgeable team of engineers, you will ensure equipment is restored to the highest standards and prepared for resale.

This is a workshop-based position, offering a stable working environment with no field service or customer site visits required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, service, repair, and refurbish commercial combi ovens and catering equipment.
  • Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical faults efficiently.
  • Ensure all equipment is tested and prepared to company quality standards before resale.
  • Maintain accurate service records and asset information using internal systems.
  • Monitor and manage spare parts stock levels within the workshop and warehouse.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across engineering, operations, and administration teams to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and efficient workshop environment.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience servicing and repairing commercial combi ovens.
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with both electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Experience working with Rational equipment is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Electrolux, Convotherm, Bonnet, or Eloma equipment would be advantageous.
  • Ability to work independently and manage workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years' experience working with commercial combi ovens preferred.
  • Full UK driving licence.

  • Ability to work full-time from the company workshop location.
