Field Technician - Travel Role | Knoxville, TN
About the Role
Our client is a large and rapidly growing national company with 300+ locations and 35+ new sites planned in the next 12 months. They need skilled field technicians to help make it happen. You'll be on the ground supporting new store buildouts, upgrades, and conversions across the country. This is a hands-on, travel-heavy role for someone who thrives working independently, solving problems in the field, and taking pride in getting the job done right.
What You'll Be Doing
Travel Expectations
This is a 75%+ travel position - expect to be on the road most weeks, Monday through Friday, with weekends at home. Flights, hotel, and a meal allowance are all covered. You'll also rack up points from flights and hotels that are yours to keep. When driving distance allows, a company vehicle or mileage reimbursement is provided.

What You'll Be Doing
- Pulling, terminating, and running Cat5/Cat6 cable, drop downs, and data/phone lines
- Installing and connecting IT hardware including routers, switches, desktops, and POS machines
- Mounting TVs and monitors, drilling through sheetrock and concrete, working in ceilings
- Coordinating with remote IT teams to troubleshoot and configure devices on-site
- Supporting new buildouts, PC refreshes, countertop upgrades, and more
Travel Expectations

What You Bring
- Hands-on experience in a field installation or install technician role
- Low-voltage cabling skills - pulling, terminating, punchdowns
- Comfort with power tools, ladders, and working in tight or overhead spaces
- Basic IT knowledge - enough to connect hardware, troubleshoot peripherals, and communicate clearly with a remote support team
- Ability to work independently and problem-solve on the fly during long workdays (8-10+ hours)
- Must be based in the Knoxville, TN metro area and able to rent a vehicle
