Job Description

SC cleared Data Architect (AWS) - Public Sector
Duration: 6 months
Start Date: Flexible
Rate: £550 - £700 (depending on SFIA level)
Location: London or Manchester (hybrid)
Clearance: SC

Overview
We're looking for a Data Architect to design secure, scalable AWS data platforms that support public sector transformation and data-driven decision making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design end-to-end data architectures on AWS (data lakes, warehouses, streaming)
  • Define data models, standards, and governance frameworks
  • Ensure compliance with data security and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR)
  • Lead data platform modernisation and migration initiatives
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into data solutions
  • Drive best practices in data quality, integration, and lifecycle management

Key Skills

  • Strong AWS data experience (e.g., S3, Redshift, Glue, Lake Formation, Athena)
  • Proven experience in public sector or regulated environments
  • Data modelling (conceptual, logical, physical) expertise
  • Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance
  • Experience with ETL/ELT, APIs, and data integration tools

Nice to Have

  • AWS certifications (e.g., Data Analytics Specialty, Solutions Architect)
  • Experience with big data, streaming (Kafka/Kinesis), or AI/ML workloads
