Job Description

Job Title: AI Specialist

Work Location: Pontiac, MI (Hybrid, mostly remote with occasional onsite days required)

Duration: 12 month+

Job Description:

  • Leads the design, development, and launch of an AI innovation program by assessing organizational readiness and innovation culture, establishing operating models, and success metrics, and implementing innovation frameworks and best practices aligned with existing technology standards.
  • Designs, develops, and deploys AI solutions that enhance business processes, improve decision-making, and drive innovation.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional stakeholders to identify high-value use cases, gather requirements, prepare data, select, train, validate, and deploy AI models and applications.
  • Develops roadmaps that prioritize impactful innovation initiatives while fostering knowledge sharing, cross-functional collaboration, and sustainable adoption across the organization.
  • Continuously evaluates emerging AI technologies, research, and industry trends to ensure the organization remains at the forefront of AI innovation and delivers measurable business value.
  • This role is innovation and cultural change management first, collaboration with the teams implementing AI second.

We're Looking For:

  • An AI strategist who can identify business opportunities and translate them into practical AI solutions.
  • A candidate with hands-on experience developing or deploying AI/ML solutions using tools such as Python, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Databricks, AWS, or Azure.
  • Someone who can bridge the gap between business and technology, collaborating with leadership, IT, and business units.
  • A change agent who can champion AI adoption, establish governance and best practices, and build an AI innovation program.
  • A strong communicator who can explain complex AI concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Someone who stays current on emerging AI technologies and can recommend solutions that deliver measurable business value

We're Not Looking For:

  • A data scientist or machine learning engineer whose experience is limited to building models with little business or stakeholder engagement.
  • A software developer focused solely on coding AI applications without driving strategy or organizational adoption.
  • A research-focused AI professional interested primarily in experimentation or academic work rather than business outcomes.
  • Someone who expects to work independently with minimal collaboration or change management responsibilities.
  • A candidate who lacks experience influencing stakeholders, leading initiatives, or translating AI capabilities into real-world business improvements
