Job Description

Role : Technical Project Manager

Location : Hyderabad

Requirements

Candidates are required to have these mandatory skills to get the eligibility of their profile assessed. The must have requirements are:

  • 12-14 years of overall experience in software delivery, program management, or project management.
  • Strong P&C Insurance domain knowledge or significant technical experience in Guidewire InsuranceSuite / PolicyCenter.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale application development, transformation, or modernization programs.
  • Experience managing SBT (Standard Base Technology) upgrade / transformation initiatives.
  • Strong customer and stakeholder management skills, including executive communication.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project planning, budgeting, execution, governance, and risk management.
  • Experience managing cross-functional teams including business, development, QA, DevOps, and architecture teams.
  • Experience managing distributed teams across onsite and offshore delivery models.
  • Strong leadership skills in communication, organization, negotiation, conflict resolution, and decision-making.
  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum / SAFe environments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a delivery-focused mindset.

Good to Have

  • PMP / PRINCE2 / PMI-ACP certification
  • Scrum Master / SAFe certification
  • Prior experience in Guidewire implementation, migration, or modernization programs
  • Exposure to cloud transformation, DevOps, or digital insurance initiatives
  • Experience managing multi-vendor delivery programs


Responsibilities

Following are the day-to-day work activities:

  • Manage end-to-end project delivery for Guidewire and SBT transformation programs, ensuring commitments related to scope, schedule, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction are achieved.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for customers, business stakeholders, and leadership teams, ensuring clear communication and timely resolution of issues.
  • Drive project planning, estimation reviews, milestone definition, resource allocation, and delivery governance.
  • Lead SBT upgrade / modernization initiatives, ensuring alignment across business, architecture, development, QA, and release teams.
  • Understand project complexity and ensure the right resource mix is allocated across workstreams.
  • Identify project dependencies, risks, bottlenecks, and critical paths; proactively drive mitigation and contingency planning.
  • Oversee onsite-offshore coordination to ensure seamless knowledge transfer, execution alignment, and delivery continuity.
  • Track project health using delivery metrics, dashboards, governance reports, and performance KPIs.
  • Manage project scope and change requests, including impact assessment on timelines, cost, and delivery commitments.
  • Work closely with architects, technical leads, and delivery managers to resolve technical and execution challenges.
  • Drive governance forums, steering committee meetings, and executive status reviews.
  • Ensure adherence to organizational quality standards, engineering best practices, and delivery processes.
  • Support Agile / Scrum / SAFe delivery models, including sprint planning, release planning, dependency management, and milestone tracking.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve delivery efficiency, predictability, and customer satisfaction.
