Job Description

Sr. Java Developer

Location:

  • Dallas, TX (Most Preferred, 5 days onsite)
  • Birmingham, AL (Most Preferred, 5 days onsite)
  • Pittsburgh, PA (Second Preferred, 5 days onsite)
  • Cleveland, OH (Second Preferred, 5 days onsite)

Contract:
W2 only, 6-12 month contract with potential for extension or conversion to full time with either the client or CEI

Pay:
$67/hour + optional medical, dental, vision, 401(k) match


Overview

This position involves supporting customer and employee authentication for a banking client, configuring and maintaining authentication policies, and developing customized components. The role requires a strong background in back-end development with compiled languages such as Java or C#, and familiarity with API security. Candidates with experience in banking or identity and access management domains are preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement, modify, and maintain authentication policy and customized components in support of customer and employee authentication.
  • Develop and support backend systems using compiled code such as Java or C#.
  • Understand and work with APIs to ensure application security and protection.
  • Exposure to application and security protection within enterprise environments.
  • Work within a heavily distributed, agile team to support authentication initiatives, including retail IVR authentication projects.
  • Engage with team members across multiple time zones and physical locations, including remote staff.
  • Participate in production deployment activities, including late-night or weekend work, and rotating on-call shifts.
  • Support configuration and maintenance of authentication rules and custom components for banking applications.

Required Skills

  • Back-end development experience with compiled code (Java, C#, etc.).
  • Understanding of APIs and application security.
  • Java/Linux background.
  • Experience with OCP containers (preferred over Windows).
  • Exposure to protecting applications within enterprise security environments.
  • Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving skills, customer service orientation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Comfortable engaging across distributed teams and remote staff.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or relevant field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Plus, certifications showing scaled agile training.

Preferred Skills

  • Front-end UI/UX development experience.
  • Banking domain or identity and access management experience.
  • Agile experience.
