ServiceNow UI Developer

Location: Charlotte, NC (Onsite) Long Term

Experience Required: 4+ Years in ServiceNow Development with a strong UI focus.

We are seeking a skilled ServiceNow UI Developer to design, develop, and enhance modern user experiences across the ServiceNow platform. This role combines front-end development expertise with ServiceNow platform customization, focusing on UI Builder, Configurable Workspaces, Service Portal, and Next Experience frameworks.

The ideal candidate will have strong ServiceNow development experience, excellent UI/UX sensibilities, and the ability to translate business requirements into intuitive, scalable, and user-friendly solutions that align with ServiceNow best practices.


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop custom user interfaces using ServiceNow UI Builder, Service Portal, and the Now Experience Framework.
  • Build and configure Configurable Workspaces and custom workspace pages tailored to business needs and user personas.
  • Develop reusable UI components, page templates, and design patterns to drive consistency and scalability.
  • Integrate front-end components with ServiceNow data sources, APIs, and workflows to create dynamic, context-aware experiences.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, business analysts, architects, and developers to gather requirements and deliver effective UI solutions.
  • Configure and support forms, service catalog experiences, widgets, client-side scripting, and navigation elements.
  • Optimize applications for usability, accessibility, responsiveness, and performance across multiple devices.
  • Troubleshoot UI issues, resolve performance bottlenecks, and stay current with new ServiceNow platform releases and capabilities.

Required Qualifications

  • 4+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development experience, including significant exposure to UI customization and front-end development.
  • Proven expertise with:
    • ServiceNow UI Builder
    • Configurable Workspaces
    • Next Experience Framework
  • Strong proficiency in:
    • JavaScript
    • HTML5
    • CSS3
  • Experience with ServiceNow APIs, client-server interactions, and integration patterns such as:
    • GlideAjax
    • Data Resources
    • REST integrations
  • Familiarity with:
    • Service Portal
    • Widget development
    • Service Catalog UI components
    • Legacy-to-modern UI migration strategies
  • Strong understanding of ServiceNow platform architecture, application development, and deployment processes.
  • Experience working in Agile environments using collaboration tools such as Git and Jira.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ServiceNow certifications such as:
    • Certified System Administrator (CSA) - Preferred
    • Certified Application Developer (CAD) - Plus
  • Exposure to UX/UI design principles, including:
    • Wireframing
    • Accessibility standards
    • Component-based design
    • Figma collaboration
  • Experience with:
    • Flow Designer
    • App Engine Studio
    • Platform automation and workflow development
  • Knowledge of employee, agent, customer, or service operations workspaces in enterprise environments.
