Join our team and discover why we are a top veteran employer and Certified Great Place to Work™ ASRC Federal Advanced Research LLC (AFAR) is seeking an experienced Information Systems Security Specialist to join our Configuration Management group that supports the development of the NEXRAD system in Norman, OK. This is a full-time on-site position at the NEXRAD Radar Operations Center (ROC). The ROC Configuration Management group manages hardware and software baselines to maintain WSR-88D system integrity. They meticulously evaluate, process, and track engineering and configuration change requests for system modifications. The team maintains digital and physical data repositories, technical records, and the ROC Technical Li brary. They provide essential drafting support by creating, updating, and reviewing CAD drawings to strict defense standards. Additionally, the group supports system upgrades by preparing procurement packages, shipping modification kits, and planning field retrofits. They also package and distribute approved software releases while centrally managing site-specific adaptation data. To ensure long-term system health, the team analyzes reliability, maintainability, and part failure trends to guide logistical decisions. Finally, they serve on project teams and conduct strict configuration audits to verify that all systems conform to approved baselines. Citizenship Requirement All candidates must have the following to pass the Federal Background Investigation and obtain the FAA Public Trust security clearance. * Be a US Citizen. * Have resided in the US for three (3) consecutive years. * RealID Driver's License/ID or current US Passport. Relocation Requirement Candidate must reside or be willing to relocate, at their expense, within a commutable distance to Norman, OK. Education && Experience Requirement All non-US Degrees must have a US Equivalency Certificate provided by the candidate. * Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related field. * Multiple levels are available: * Level 1: Entry Level; Zero (0) to three (3) years of experience. * Level 2: Three (3) to six (6) years of experience. * Level 3: Six (6) to nine (9) years of experience. * Level 4: Nine (9) or more years of experience. Required Skills * Strong scripting skills with hands-on experience automating tasks and workflows. * Proven background working in Linux/UNIX environments, including system administration, scripting, software deployment, and troubleshooting. * Experience applying configuration management best practices and using version contr ol tools such as Git. * Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and various testing methodologies. * Experience supporting or developing complex systems that require hardware and software integration. * Ability to: * Work independently, as well as a team. * Multi-task across teams in a structured environment. * Research and problem solve; willingness to learn/try new things * Communicate effectively through verbal and written communication; including developing technical documentation. Essential Daily Job Duties * Provide full lifecycle Configuration Management (CM) support, including planning, identification, contr ol, auditing, and status accounting. * Establish, manage, and maintain hardware, software, documentation, and system baselines to ensure traceability and integrity. * Support change contr ol processes by reviewing, approving, implementing, and tracking engineering changes, deviations, waivers, CCRs, and ECPs. * Utilize NEXRAD (WSR-88D) CM systems and tools such as Razor, DOORS, and Agile to manage configuration data and workflows. * Maintain CM databases, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, accessibility, and automated metric/report generation. * Coordinate CM activities including documentation reviews, meeting support, action item tracking, and timely closure. * Develop and maintain scripts and tools to automate CM processes, testing workflows, software deployment, and performance tracking. * Support integration, configuration, and testing of RPG/RDA components; create and maintain software media and test procedures aligned with baselines and ICDs. * Plan and execute deployment activities for software/hardware updates, including media creation, kit packaging, logistics coordination, and field support. * Ensure compliance with ICDs, FAA/program standards, and industry best practices while maintaining technical documentation and driving process improvements.
