Associate General Counsel - Mutual Funds

A well-established organization is seeking an experienced attorney to join its legal team. This position will work closely with business and operational stakeholders, providing practical legal guidance on a broad range of strategic, regulatory, and commercial matters. The role offers significant visibility across the organization and the opportunity to serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day legal support to business stakeholders across multiple functional areas.
• Advise on regulatory, operational, and strategic initiatives.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements and related documentation.
• Partner with internal teams to identify legal risks and develop practical solutions.
• Support corporate governance, compliance, and risk management initiatives.
• Review communications, marketing materials, and external-facing documents as needed.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments and assist with implementation efforts.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on various legal projects and business initiatives.
• Manage multiple matters simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
• Active bar membership in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• 5+ years of legal experience gained in a law firm and/or in-house environment.
• Experience advising business clients on regulatory, transactional, and operational matters.
• Strong contract drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
• Excellent judgment, organizational skills, and attention to detail.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with senior stakeholders.
