Location: Lansing, MI

Summary
The Vision Systems Engineer I will support the prevention of quality issue in advance and maximize output (yield, OEE) through the establishment of inspection system, management of inspection equipment maintenance, improvement of inspection equipment performance, and the introduction of new equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Perform Omron or Keyence Stand-alone Vision Controller by using various inspection logic
- Perform PC based inspection program developed by vendor that using various inspection logic
- Responsible for incident follow-up, root cause analysis and documentation
- Commission vision cameras for 2D/3D part inspection, and process control
- Train and equip Quality Team to support vision systems after deployment into production
- Establish vision systems test plans
- Document control system and equipment configuration changes
- Lead and plan inspection related project from
- Apply inspection method to troubleshoot various status (I/O boards, encoder, light controller, modules and devices)
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship across all levels in the organization
- Provide enriched feedback to enhance individual performance
- Complete all safety training as assigned by the Company
- Ensure compliance with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures
- Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:
- Sort, Set in order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain
- Right Location, Right Quantity, Right Container
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related field required or equivalent, relevant experience
Experience:
- 1 to 3+ years of related experience
- Equivalent experience with automated machines in a manufacturing environment;
- 2+ years of experience with machinery operation to include automated machines preferred
Skills:
- Practical knowledge in selection of cameras, displacement sensors, frame grabbers, lightning, lenses preferred
- Multi-tasking ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- High proficiency with MS Office suite
- Requires work in clean room environment
- Required to wear proper PPE, clean room suit and other gear during operation
