Head of IT Support

• SC Cleared Interim Head of IT Support
• 6 month initial contract
• £650 - £700 inside IR35
• 2-3 days onsite Southampton

Our client, a public sector organisation are seeking an experienced SC Cleared Interim Head of IT Support to take ownership of a business-critical IT support function.
This role requires a credible, hands-on leader who has operated at Head of IT Support, Head of Service Management, or equivalent level, and can quickly provide operational stability, lead service improvements, and drive ITSM maturity.
Key Responsibilities

• Lead the IT Support function, including Service Desk, Incident, Problem and Asset Management.
• Take ownership of service delivery, operational performance, customer relationships and escalations.
• Drive improvements across ITSM processes, governance and service management maturity.
• Lead preparation for an upcoming SDI audit, ensuring readiness and improvement activity.
• Support the rollout of a new ITSM platform, helping shape processes, adoption and operational readiness.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships and improve customer experience across the organisation.

Essential Experience

• Active SC Clearance (mandatory).
• Proven leadership of an IT Support or Service Management function.
• Strong ITSM expertise across Incident, Problem, Change and Service Management disciplines.
• Track record of delivering service improvement, operational excellence and stakeholder engagement.
• Able to operate independently, influence senior stakeholders and deliver results at pace.
