is seeking qualified candidates for the following opening:

PowerShell Systems Administrator

We are seeking a skilled PowerShell Systems Administrator / Automation Engineer to support the College of Engineering by maintaining and enhancing a suite of PowerShell automation scripts used to manage Microsoft collaboration platforms and academic resources.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting existing PowerShell scripts that automate the administration of Microsoft SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Exchange Distribution Lists for academic courses. This role also requires experience working with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL), as the automation environment relies on SQL databases for data management and integration.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys troubleshooting, process automation, and improving operational efficiency within a Microsoft enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, monitor, and support existing PowerShell automation scripts used by the College of Engineering.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve issues related to PowerShell scripts and scheduled automation processes.
  • Develop new PowerShell scripts or enhance existing scripts to improve efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Manage the automation of SharePoint sites, Microsoft Teams, and Exchange distribution lists used for academic courses.
  • Support SQL Server databases that provide data for automation processes, including querying, troubleshooting, and validating data.
  • Analyze existing automation workflows and recommend process improvements or new automation solutions.
  • Ensure scripts are well-documented, maintainable, and follow established coding standards.
  • Work closely with College of Engineering staff to understand business requirements and implement technical solutions.
  • Perform testing and validation of script changes before deployment into production.
  • Document system changes, troubleshooting procedures, and technical solutions.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong experience developing and maintaining PowerShell scripts in a production environment.
  • Experience administering and automating Microsoft 365 technologies, including:
    • Microsoft SharePoint
    • Microsoft Teams
    • Exchange Online Distribution Lists
  • Experience writing SQL queries and working with Microsoft SQL Server (MSSQL) databases.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience maintaining and supporting existing automation solutions.
  • Ability to analyze existing code, identify issues, and implement enhancements.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Microsoft 365 administration.
  • Experience with SharePoint Online administration.
  • Familiarity with scheduled task automation or enterprise job scheduling.
  • Experience working in a higher education or academic environment.
  • Knowledge of version control systems such as Git.
  • Experience documenting scripts, processes, and technical solutions.
