AWS Solution Architect

AWS Solution Architect || Location – Albany, NY || Employment type - contract

 

Job Description 

We are seeking an experienced AWS Solution Architect to design and deliver scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in AWS architecture, cloud migration, infrastructure, and modern application development.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available AWS cloud architectures.
• Develop cloud migration and modernization strategies for enterprise applications.
• Design solutions using AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, VPC, RDS, DynamoDB, ECS/EKS, API Gateway, CloudFront, and Route 53.
• Define architecture patterns for compute, storage, networking, databases, and serverless applications.
• Ensure solutions meet security, performance, scalability, availability, and cost requirements.
• Work with development, DevOps, security, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Lead technical POCs, architecture reviews, and solution design discussions.
• Implement cloud security best practices using IAM, KMS, CloudTrail, and AWS security services.
• Support CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform/CloudFormation initiatives.
• Identify opportunities for cloud cost optimization and performance improvement.
• Create architecture diagrams, technical documentation, and implementation standards.

 

Required Skills

• 12+ years of IT experience with 3+ years of AWS Solution Architecture experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and enterprise architecture.
• Strong knowledge of AWS networking, security, compute, storage, and databases.
• Experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, serverless, and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud migration and modernization projects.
• Strong communication, analytical, and stakeholder management skills.

 

Preferred

• AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate/Professional.
• Experience with Python, Java, or Node.js.
• Experience with AWS Well-Architected Framework.
• Experience with multi-account AWS environments and enterprise landing zones.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and AWS CloudTrail.
