Embedded Software Engineer 3 – Remote Control Systems

Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Employment Type: W2
Pay Rate: $50/hour on W2

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• 5–7 years of experience in Systems Engineering, Embedded Software Development, Systems Integration, and/or Verification & Validation.
• Strong understanding of:
  • Requirements Engineering
  • System Architecture
  • Electrical Schematics
  • System Integration
  • Verification & Validation (V&V)
• Hands-on proficiency with:
  • Embedded C/C++
  • MATLAB/Simulink
  • Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS)
  • CAN
  • Ethernet
  • Embedded Control Systems
• Experience with CANoe/CANalyzer and Wireshark.
• Experience with Git and modern software development and testing tools.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering tools, including GitHub Copilot or Microsoft Copilot.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Top candidates will also have experience with:

• Autonomy, Robotics, Remote Control, or Machine Control Systems
• AUTOSAR
• Functional Safety
• Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
• Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) and Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) testing
• IBM DOORS or Jama
• Automated software and system test frameworks
