About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer with 8 12+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment and automation systems, specializing in machine-level systems engineering and architecture. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on expertise in C/C++, RTOS, microcontrollers, C# industrial applications, motion control, and robotics. The role requires integration of mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software systems for complex automated equipment. Experience with semiconductor tools and SECS/GEM industrial protocols is preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and support machine-level system architecture for semiconductor equipment and automation systems.
• Integrate mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software subsystems into complete machine-level solutions.
• Support embedded firmware development and integration using C/C++.
• Develop and integrate systems utilizing RTOS and microcontrollers.
• Develop and support C# applications for machine automation and industrial applications.
• Design, integrate, and troubleshoot motion control systems.
• Support integration and operation of robotics and automated machine systems.
• Define and evaluate system-level requirements, interfaces, and architecture.
• Support system integration, testing, troubleshooting, and validation of complex automation equipment.
• Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, firmware, software, and controls engineering teams.
• Support machine controls and industrial automation activities.
• Work with industrial communication protocols, including SECS/GEM where applicable.
• Support semiconductor equipment applications including EFEM, sorters, load ports, wafer handling, and semiconductor robots.
• Identify and resolve system-level integration and performance issues.
• Support technical development throughout the system lifecycle.

Required Qualifications:

• 8 12+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment and/or automation systems.
• Strong experience in Systems Engineering / Machine-Level Architecture.
• Hands-on experience with C/C++, RTOS, and microcontrollers.
• Experience with C# for machine automation or industrial applications.
• Strong experience with motion control systems and robotics.
• Experience integrating mechanical, electrical, firmware, and software systems.
• Strong understanding of machine controls and industrial automation.
• Experience with system architecture and integration of complex automated equipment.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or a related technical field; specific degree requirement is not stated in the JD.
• Ability to work onsite in Fremont, CA or willingness to travel to Fremont, CA.
