Job Description

Contingent Workforce Operations & Data Specialist

I’m recruiting for a global technology organisation seeking a hands-on Contingent Workforce Operations & Data Specialist. You will support the Contingent Workforce Lead during an important business transition, helping ensure that contractor and non-employee workforce information is accurate, complete and properly managed.

This is not a recruitment delivery role, and specialist M&A experience is not required. The focus is on contingent workforce data, worker classifications, operational coordination and reliable day-to-day support.

The Offer:

  • Eight-month contract
  • Salary up to £75,000 pa
  • Hybrid with three days onsite each week in Reading, Berkshire,

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Gather, review and validate contingent worker information.
  • Maintain accurate Excel trackers and reconcile data from different sources.
  • Distinguish between employees, contingent workers, independent contractors and other engagement types.
  • Check worker records, classifications, tenure, rates, suppliers and contract dates.
  • Coordinate with the MSP, staffing suppliers and internal stakeholders to resolve missing or inaccurate information.
  • Support the movement of workers into the appropriate HR or vendor-management systems.
  • Update worker records and monitor compliance documents, renewals and onboarding requirements.
  • Help coordinate background checks, worker orientations and operational setup.
  • Maintain weekly status reports, issue logs and clear audit-ready records.
  • Escalate data, compliance or classification risks to the Contingent Workforce Lead.

What We’re Looking For

  • At least three years’ experience in contingent workforce operations, MSP delivery, VMS support or contractor management.
  • A clear understanding of different worker categories, including FTEs, contingent workers and independent contractors.
  • Strong Excel skills, including data validation, reconciliation and tracker management.
  • Experience managing worker records across onboarding, extensions, renewals and offboarding.
  • Good knowledge of contingent workforce compliance and worker classification.
  • Experience coordinating with suppliers, MSP teams and internal business stakeholders.
  • Excellent organisation, accuracy and follow-through.
  • A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work directly with detailed workforce information.
  • Confidence supporting sensitive or business-critical worker issues.
  • Availability to attend the Reading office three days per week.

Experience supporting a workforce transition, VMS implementation or organisational change would be useful, but it is not essential. The strongest candidate will be someone who understands contingent workforce operations and can give the Contingent Workforce Lead dependable, data-focused support.
