About the Role

IRT is committed to enhancing our leadership capabilities, offering an exciting opportunity for a motivated and dedicated Hospitality Team Leader to oversee the planning, ordering, preparation, and compliance of food service, laundry, and cleaning operations at our IRT Five Islands Court (Port Kemlba) and IRT William Beach Gardens Aged Care Center (Kanahooka).

This role requires working 4 days per week across both IRT Five Islands Court and IRT William Beach Gardens. It is offered as a permanent part time position, providing 32 hours per week, with working hours from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Your work will include:

  • Leading, mentoring and supervising hospitality employees, including reviewing performance.
  • Responsibility for the planning, ordering and overseeing the preparation of all meals (compliant with resident dietary requirements) and light refreshments to ensure residents enjoy a quality food experience.
  • Ensuring food safety documentation is complete and that all work practices meet HACCP requirements. Ensure all corrective actions are completed with specified timeframes.
  • Ensuring deliveries are received and processed in accordance with IRT food safety plan.
  • Monitoring IRT cleaning contractor team members to ensure cleaning standards are met.
  • Ensuring the management and delivery of hospitality services meets Aged Care Quality Standards and is in line with IRT's policies and procedures.
  • Participating in the recruitment, selection and orientation of team members in line with IRT's policies and procedures.
To Be Successful You Will Have
  • Certificate III (or higher) in Hospitality or Commercial Cookery
  • Certificate IV in Leadership & Management (or willingness to obtain)
  • Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Proven experience in a similar role
  • Sound verbal, written, presentation, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated problem solving, negotiating and organisational skills.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise own work and/or work of others to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Aged Care Quality and Food Safety Standards.
