Laboratory Technician

To provide technical support and assistance to Clinical Lab Scientists and/or Medical Lab Technicians. To effectively and efficiently process laboratory specimens for analysis and pre- and post-analytically. To accurately convey information regarding specimens and testing. This is not an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities, or requirements. • Set up, clean, and maintain laboratory equipment as identified in the department. (20%)
• Prepare specimens for automated analyzer. (20%)
• Assist in monitoring product quality to ensure compliance to lab standards and specifications. (10%)
• Order inventory materials to maintain supplies, such as reagent stocking, consumables management, and various other sundries. (15%)
• Isolate, identify, and prepare specimens for examination. (10%)
• Clean, maintain, and prepare supplies and work areas. (10%)
• Track missing and pending work and the logical process to locate missing/pending work. (15%)

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS
Minimum:

• Use of computers, computer-interfaced equipment, or high-technology industrial applications to perform work duties.

YEARS OF RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE
Preferred:

• Familiarity with healthcare and customer service. Biological science experience.
