CHP Project Manager

Senior Project Manager (Contract)<br />CHP and Heating (Combined Heat &amp; Power) 6 month contract £450 per day (outside IR35) Hybrid working (Nottingham and Stafford) We are currently seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Manager to lead a high‑value CHP and heating project.

This is a client‑facing role requiring strong mechanical expertise, adaptability, and exceptional stakeholder communication skills. The project contract has recently been signed and is now moving through a phase where programme variations are impacting cost and delivery timelines.

The successful PM will be confident operating in a changing environment, providing calm, decisive leadership while maintaining transparency and trust with the end client.

Key Responsibilities<br />• Lead the mechanical delivery of a £3m CHP and heating project project from mobilisation through to completion<br />• Act as the primary point of contact for the end client and key stakeholders<br />• Manage and communicate programme variations, including their impact on cost, scope, and delivery timelines<br />• Maintain accurate reporting on progress, risks, and changes<br />• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and internal delivery teams<br />• Ensure health &amp; safety, quality, and compliance standards are met throughout the project<br />• Proactively identify risks and implement mitigation strategies<br />• Support commercial discussions relating to variations and revised programmes Key Requirements<br />• Proven experience as a Senior Mechanical Project Manager on complex M&amp;E projects<br />• Strong technical knowledge of heating systems and CHP plant<br />• Demonstrable experience managing projects under changing programmes and client-driven variations<br />• Confident in client‑led environments with senior stakeholder exposure<br />• Commercially aware, with experience influencing cost and programme outcomes<br />• Strong communication and leadership skills, able to remain composed under pressure If you are interested, please apply online
