Principal Radiation Physicist | Askam-In-Furness, United Kingdom | Hybrid This organisation is a recognised leader in defence, aerospace, and security solutions, known for its pioneering spirit and commitment to protecting what matters most. The Role • Supervise and conduct assessments and experiments to support system qualification. • Contribute to ongoing design optimisation through expert analysis and recommendations. • Produce and review radiological safety justifications for proposed design solutions. • Direct the development of in-house toolsets to meet departmental objectives. • Support detailed shielding design, balancing build constraints with system performance requirements. What You'll Need • A relevant STEM degree in Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, or Nuclear Engineering. • Demonstrable experience using radiation transport codes (e.g., MCNP, MCBEND, Attilla). • A strong understanding of radiation physics and its practical applications. • Experience in radiation safety studies and radiation metrology. • Knowledge of the ALARP principle.
