Job Description

What to Expect
  • The Core Service Engineering team is responsible for the platforms that form the foundation of ownership experience for Tesla's products.
  • In this role, you will build applications that customers interact with for charging using the North America Charging Standard (NACS), OTA updates, referrals, Robotaxi, and the Tesla Diner.
  • You will explore how AI Agentic applications can assist in creating a better user experience.
  • You will build backend & distributed systems to support Robotaxi and Charging pricing estimations, final billing, and workflow orchestration across all markets.
What You ll Do
  • Build backend systems to determine real-time pricing, surcharges, and fees for Tesla Robotaxi rides and charging stations.
  • Develop ride price estimation algorithms considering price, traffic, tolls, and constraints.
  • Build Golang services to orchestrate billing and payment workflows.
  • Build REST APIs for customer-facing applications.
  • Write automation tests using Python.
  • Support Robotaxi global expansion by handling airport-related fees and surcharges.
  • Support Charging programs expansion for roaming costs.
  • Build backend infrastructure for route pricing data globally.
What You ll Bring
  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of backend development experience.
  • Experience building server-side infrastructure and data processing systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with minimal guidance.
  • Good collaboration and communication skills.
  • Experience with Golang, secure architecture, or MySQL is a plus.
  • Expert knowledge of REST APIs, Microservices, Docker, Kubernetes, and queue systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
