Job Overview
We are looking for a Senior AWS Data Engineer / Senior Cloud Engineer to join the Global Technology team supporting a major Insurance client. You will work within the CDO Enterprise Data Platform (EDP) team to design, build, and optimize scalable AWS-based data platforms and ETL solutions supporting mission-critical applications.
The ideal candidate has 8+ years of IT experience, including 5+ years of hands-on AWS Data Engineering experience, with strong expertise in cloud-native data services, ETL development, infrastructure automation, and Python.

Responsibilities
- Design and develop scalable AWS data platforms and ETL pipelines.
- Build cloud-native data processing applications using AWS services.
- Optimize data workflows and troubleshoot production issues.
- Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Build CI/CD pipelines for data applications.
- Develop production-grade Python applications.
- Implement secure AWS architectures using IAM, KMS, and VPC.
- Monitor and optimize application and data pipeline performance.
- Collaborate with global development teams in an Agile environment.
- Participate in architecture discussions and continuous improvements.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of overall IT experience.
- 5+ years of AWS Data Engineering experience.
- Strong Python development experience.
- Expertise with Spark, Glue, EMR, ETL, and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Experience with Docker and containerized workloads (ECS/EKS).
- Strong understanding of AWS networking and security.
- Experience with Git, Jenkins, and Linux.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Life Insurance domain experience (preferred but not mandatory).
- Application development experience.
- Team leadership or mentoring experience.
- Experience working in global Agile teams.
