Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized individual to support our faculty by managing and administering various systems and processes within the department. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills and be task-driven.

  • Set up and administer systems and processes for the department.
  • Prepare documents for articles, cases, and presentations, including proofreading and formatting exhibits and citations.
  • Demonstrate intermediate or better proficiency in MS Office and a willingness to learn Harvard systems.
  • Support faculty during teaching sessions by preparing handouts, coordinating arrangements for class visitors, and participating in proctoring exams.
  • Coordinate audiovisual support for the classroom as needed.
  • Maintain information on course websites, produce seating charts, and update class lists.
  • Manage complex calendars, schedule appointments with students and others, make room and catering arrangements, and prepare documents for meetings.
  • Coordinate complex travel arrangements, prepare itineraries, assess different itineraries for cost and convenience, and arrange for travel visas.
  • Prepare and process expense reimbursements in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Perform basic online research and obtain books, articles, and other information.
  • Maintain accurate and organized electronic and paper files for faculty, practicing careful version control with logical naming conventions.
  • Greet visitors as the primary contact on faculty members'' behalf and respond to phone calls, faxes, voicemail, and emails promptly.
  • Order office supplies as needed.
