Neos is Seeking a Cybersecurity Analyst for a long-term contract role for with our client in Austin, TX.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES

Performs moderately complex (journey-level) information security and cybersecurity analysis work. Under the guidance of the Chief Information Security and Data Officer, this position assists in the day-to-day activities of the agency's information security program. Works under close supervision with limited latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment.

CANDIDATE SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements

2 years - Required - Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity principles and concepts.

2 years - Required - Basic understanding of security policies, risk evaluation, and regulatory requirements.

1 year - Required - Ability to follow established procedures related to policy implementation, risk awareness, and basic security operations.

1 year - Required - Familiarity with Texas Cybersecurity Framework, Texas Administrative Code 202 Information Security Standards, or similar public cybersecurity standards.

1 year - Preferred - Exposure to cloud technologies and basic understanding of cloud security concepts (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS)

1 year - Preferred - Hands-on labs or training in vulnerability scanning, incident response, or security monitoring.

1 year - Preferred - Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally with technical and non-technical audiences.

1 year - Preferred - Basic analytical and problem-solving skills and an ability to learn and apply cybersecurity methodologies

1 year - Preferred - Knowledge of computer systems, mainstream operating systems, networks, common applications, and basic IT security concepts.

1 year - Preferred - Ability to use or learn security tools for monitoring, vulnerability assessment, and incident triage under supervision.

1 year - Preferred - Ability to complete project assignments within allocated time frame, demonstrating patience and meticulousness in the implementation of information security solutions.

1 year - Preferred - Ability to communicate clearly and document work effectively

1 year - Preferred - Ability to communicate effectively including translating complex technical information into non-technical clear concepts, both orally and in writing.

1 year - Preferred - Ability to comply with all agency policies and procedures.

1 year - Preferred - Must be available to work weekends and/or after-hours with advanced notice

1 year - Preferred - Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency personnel across the organization.

1 year - Preferred - Ability to comply with all applicable health and safety rules, regulations, and standards.

1 year - Preferred - May be utilized as part of the department's 24/7 on-call scheduled rotation
