Description

Make a difference for national security by joining a team of dedicated IT professionals who will sustain, modernize and transform the enterprise IT capabilities for the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency (DCSA). The Air Force and Combatant Commands Business Group of SAIC is seeking a ServiceNow Software Engineer Senior to support a transformational infrastructure program for DCSA.

SAIC is proud to be supporting DCSA in safeguarding our nation's information. DCSA is the designated oversight authority on the accreditation of classified facilities, information systems, and the insider threat program. This involves security oversight of more than 10,000 companies and approximately 13,000 facilities involved in classified work throughout the DoD and 31 Federal agencies.

Specifically, on the DCSA One IT program, SAIC will provide an enterprise IT solution that delivers highly secured and adaptable IT infrastructure, provides customer support, and cutting-edge technologies that support operations and advance the DCSA mission under a single IT environment (i.e., One IT).

The ServiceNow ITO Discovery Administrator will be responsible for the configuration, maintenance, and ongoing operation of the ServiceNow ITOM suite with a primary focus on Software Asset Management (SAM) and Hardware Asset Management (HAM) Discovery. This role involves leveraging the ServiceNow platform to manage and optimize software licenses and hardware assets, ensuring compliance, and enhancing the efficiency of IT asset management processes. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with ServiceNow Discovery, CMDB, SAM, HAM, and a solid understanding of IT operations and asset management best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Asset Management:
    • Develop and maintain ITOM processes, policies, and procedures in alignment with industry standards and best practices.
    • Track and manage software licenses and hardware inventory, ensuring accurate data and compliance.
    • Perform regular audits of software and hardware assets to identify discrepancies and potential compliance issues.
  • Discovery Process:
    • Analyze asset data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for optimization.
    • Generate and present reports on software compliance, asset utilization, and other key metrics to stakeholders.
    • Work with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver actionable insights based on asset data.
  • License Compliance and Optimization:
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with software licensing terms and conditions.
    • Identify and remediate instances of under- or over-utilization of software licenses.
    • Optimize software license usage to achieve cost savings and improved efficiency.
  • Data Management and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of software assets within the SAM/HAM tool.
    • Develop and generate reports on software/hardware compliance, usage, and other key metrics.
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support decision-making processes.
  • Continuous Improvement:
    • Stay current with ServiceNow updates, new features, and industry trends in ITOM.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation within the asset management lifecycle.
    • Lead or participate in projects to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of IT operations management.


Qualifications

It is required that the ServiceNow ITOM Operations Management Discovery Administrator have the following qualifications:
  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Nine (9) or more years of hands-on experience in ServiceNow development and administration.
  • Secret Clearance.
  • Extensive experience with ServiceNow platform capabilities and tools, including scripting, customization and configurations.
  • Hands-on experience with ServiceNow ITOM, SAM and HAM modules.
  • Experience with ServiceNow Discovery configuration and management.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal, with the ability to interact effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist - Discovery, SAM or HAM.
  • IAT Level II Certification in one of the following areas: CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP.

Desired Qualifications
  • MA/MS.
  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA) certification.
  • ServiceNow Certified Application Developer (CAD) certification.
  • Prior experience working with government of defense clients.
