• This position is 80% development and 20% unit testing.

Job Description

Lead the design and delivery of event-driven transactional microservices on AWS using:

• Java 17

• Spring Boot

• ECS

• Aurora PostgreSQL

• SQS FIFO

• EventBridge

• MSK

The systems will be processing millions of decisions per day. This role focuses on transactional systems, not data pipelines or analytics.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience with Java/Spring Boot

• Hands-on AWS experience

• Experience with ECS

• Experience with Aurora PostgreSQL

• Experience with SQS

• Experience with EventBridge

• Experience building transactional systems

• Experience with concurrency controls, including:

  • Advisory locks

  • Optimistic versioning

• Experience with Kafka

• Experience with CI/CD, preferably GitLab

• Experience with Terraform/CDK

Preferred Skills

• Drools Rules Engine

• State machine patterns

• Parallel-run validation

• Resilience4j

• Legacy-to-cloud migration
