Quick Overview
Job Description
Change the world. Love your job.
Architects define the foundational blueprint for semiconductor systems by establishing high-level architectural frameworks, system-level specifications, and strategic design methodologies for digital electronic devices and integrated circuits. They collaborate with designers, system engineers, and cross-functional R&D teams to translate market requirements and product visions into comprehensive architectural solutions. Architects develop system partitioning strategies, define interface specifications, and establish design guidelines that guide the overall product development lifecycle from concept through mass production. They conduct architectural trade-off analyses, perform system-level modeling and simulation, and ensure that architectural decisions align with performance, power, area, and cost targets while meeting reliability and scalability requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
1. 5+ years of relevant experience in system architecture or digital design
2. Deep understanding of ARM Cortex processor architectures and embedded system design
3. Thorough knowledge of system-on-chip (SoC) architecture and subsystem integration methodologies
4. Strong problem-solving skills with ability to analyze complex system-level challenges and develop innovative solutions
5. Solid foundation in digital design principles and hardware/software interface design
Preferred Qualifications:
- Proven track record of translating system requirements into implementable architectural specifications
- Demonstrated expertise in architecture trade-off analysis
- Experience with Cortex-M families and their ecosystem
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills for resolving multi-disciplinary technical challenges
- Ability to work in teams and collaborate effectively with people in different functions
- Ability to adapt quickly to evolving requirements in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Additional Technical Competencies:
1. Ability to look at end to end solutions & derive system requirements.
1. Ability to evaluate and convert high level requirement into a HW and/or SW features.
2. Assess high level market requirements for cost, power, security, safety implications.
3. Work with estimation tools (simulators, spreadsheets, Python tools, matlab models, etc) to model performance of design choices.
4. Work with design-oriented tools and outputs (xml, sims, waveforms, etc)
5. Ability to make good judgements based on early / partial data
6. Ability to do "what if" thinking to make sure that IP/SOC definitions are not missing opportunities or falling behind.
